“Think like a queen. A queen is not afraid to fail. Failure is another stepping stone to greatness.”
Oprah Winfrey

Do you have mind chatter going on inside your head that is always criticizing you? Negative thoughts tear down our self esteem leaving us feeling vulnerable, powerless, and susceptible to more negative thinking. This downward spiral leave many women feeling stressed, hopeless, trapped, anxious, unworthy, and miserable. But ladies it does not have to be that way. If your mind chatter is talking negatively about you, your life, your job, your family, your friends, your finances, or just about everything then today I am giving you positive affirmations to fight back the negative ones.

Now along with these positive affirmations I want you to know that you have to add action into your life as well. So not only do you stop the negative thoughts in their tracks and replace them with a positive one about yourself. I want you to hold your head up, and believe that these words ARE true about you. Why? Because they ARE true! I believe they are true about YOU!

 Affirmations for Self Esteem

  • I am a special, loving and unique person.
    * I am happy just being me.
    * Through love I can forgive myself.
    * I make a difference to the world.
    * I deserve to be happy and successful.
    * I now choose to be happy.
    * I love doing things that make me happy.
    * I deserve the best and I am open to receiving it.
    * I have the power to make positive changes in my life.
    * Through love I can forgive others.
    * I now choose to be successful.
    * I treat myself as a divine and loving person.

Discovery Health has a Self Esteem test that takes a few minutes. Why not take a few minutes and see where you are.

It is Always Too Soon To Quit

Derek Redmond is not a name that conjures up memories of Olympic gold medals. But it is Redmond who defines the essence of the human spirit. Redmond arrived at the 1992 Olympic Summer Games in Barcelona determined to win a medal in the 400. When the 1992 Games arrived, this was his time, his moment, and his stage, to show the world how good he was and who he was. Only 175 meters away from finishing, Redmond is a shoo-in to make the finals.

Suddenly, he hears a pop. In his right hamstring. He pulls up lame, as if he had been shot. On the track, Redmond realizes his dream of an Olympic medal is gone. Tears run down his face. “All I could think was, ‘I’m out of the Olympics — again,’” he would say.

As the medical crew arrives with a stretcher, Redmond tells them, “No, there’s no way I’m getting on that stretcher. I’m going to finish my race.”Then, in a moment that will live forever in the minds of millions, Redmond lifts himself to his feet, ever so slowly, and starts hobbling down the track. The other runners have finished the race.

Suddenly, everyone realizes that Redmond isn’t dropping out of the race by hobbling off to the side of the track. No, he is actually continuing on one leg. He’s going to attempt to hobble his way to the finish line.

All by himself. All in the name of pride and heart. Suddenly, Jim Redmond (his father) finally gets to the bottom of the stands, leaps over the railing, avoids a security guard, and runs out to his son, with two security people chasing after him. “That’s my son out there,” he yells back to security, “and I’m going to help him.”Finally, with Derek refusing to surrender and painfully limping along the track, Jim reaches his son at the final curve, about 120 meters from the finish, and wraps his arm around his waist. “I’m here, son,” Jim says softly, hugging his boy. “We’ll finish together.”

Derek puts his arms around his father’s shoulders and sobs. Together, arm in arm, father and son, with 65,000 people cheering, clapping and crying; finish the race, just as they vowed they would. A couple steps from the finish line and with the crowd in an absolute frenzy, Jim releases the grip he has on his son, so Derek could cross the finish line by himself. Then he throws his arms around Derek again, both crying, along with everyone in the stands and on TV.

“I’m the proudest father alive,” he tells the press afterwards, tears in his eyes. “I’m prouder of him than I would have been if he had won the gold medal. It took a lot of guts for him to do what he did.”

“When your heart is in your dream, no request is too extreme.” ~ Jiminy Cricket

Today ladies I want to challenge you to take bold action…

You CAN live a life of abundance.

You CAN live your dreams.

You CAN live what’s most important to you.

But you will need to take ACTION, rather than just “wish and wait” for it to happen.

On our Tuesday Night Success Training we talked about “action subdues fear.”

Do not let your fear stop you from taking action towards your dreams.

A Time To Dream…

The weekend is approaching and I would like you to make some definite plans to take some time to renew your God-given right to dream!

Please remember, you have the opportunity to make your dreams real… to actually LIVE the life you desire.

My motto for 2008 is to Live Life not Just Live. Why not make it yours as well.

The key is to turn your dreams into GOALS… your goals into PLANS… and your PLANS into specific ACTIONS.

Right now is the perfect time to reconnect and recommit to your goals and plans. This may be the most important 5 minutes you will spend this week! So do it now!

Ask yourself what you want.

What is stopping you from getting it?

And what steps do you take in order to get that dream?

The Party is here

Ladies Good Morning and Happy Monday!

I am excited that today is our Grateful Monday Party here on our blog!

For those of you who are new, every Monday we have a party right here on our blog. This party is to tell what we are grateful for today.

Why do we do this you ask?

1)      It is statistically proven that more heart attacks happen on Sunday Evening to Monday mornings, why STRESS!

2)      When we count our blessings and what we are grateful for it is hard to focus on what is going on in our daily lives that might not seem so great.

3)      There are many more proven statistics to being grateful that benefit your health and happiness.

More and more we are learning that the more grateful we are the better our lives will be. My mission this year is to help women learn to live life and not just live!

Ladies being grateful is a great way to start living your life!

So let’s party girls what are you grateful for today?

I am grateful for the most beautiful weekend spent with my husband and my children. My children do not all live at home anymore but came over the spend the day eating, laughing, and laying out by the pool in Florida’s beautiful 70 something weather!!!

I am grateful for being able to get up every day and come into my home office and talk to all of my girlfriends here at G.I.R.L.S.

I am grateful for the women whose lives I get to be in every day. I am grateful that I get to live the in the USA! I am proud to be an American! I am grateful for you ladies, each and everyone of you who send me comments, and emails, and come on our Success Training calls on Tuesdays and on our Keys to Victorious Faith calls (This Thursday by the way is our Keys to Victorious Faith call)

I am grateful to be able to have a job that does not even seem like a job at all.

Now it is your turn to inspire someone else with what you are grateful for…..

A Women Who Can

a poem by Jackie Dove-Miller

I want to be a woman who can; One who can go on after the pain, Of being knocked down Again and again; One who can do the work after every hurt To guarantee spiritual growth. A woman who can get the valley’s lesson So that I won’t have to spend time guessing What God wants me, in my broken state, to see And so I won’t have to claw my way out of that same dark valley More than once. I want to be a woman who can take action. Who knows what she wants and goes after it Not wasting any more time waiting for things to happen To me, around me, in spite of me. I want to be a woman who can. One who can see the positive and recognize that, “Though weeping endures for a night…” Much Joy can come with the light. And though I am a woman who stumbles, I can stop my fall By taking one small forward step Knowing that each tread takes me closer To my sunrise And the surprise of a new day. I want to be a woman who can Understand that some doors must close And block my way In order to still my ego, Teaching me to “Let go, and let God” Do His work in me. And making me grateful that “Things work together for good.” So, each valley and each hill I can count as God’s will To get me closer to spirit, and in that place, Feel Him freeing me to be the person He wants me to be. I want to be a woman who can love herself, flaws and all. Recognizing that perfection belongs only to God And in humility, be at peace with me as His creation. Then, I can be a woman who can Release the past and move forward, Who can forgive my shortcomings and my excesses, My bad decisions and wrong turns And create a positive vision for my future.

Make a Life List

How to make a list of life objectives without setting yourself up for disappointment.

By Dulce Zamora

As Featured on WebMD

What do you want to do with your life? It’s a question usually pondered by new college graduates, people thinking of switching careers, and those experiencing a midlife crisis. Yet the query has recently gotten some new attention.

In www.43things.com, a web site where people can share their life objectives, some 40,000 people have reportedly posted their goals. The wish list varies. “Find a soul mate,” “Write a novel,” “Swim with sharks,” and “Go to bed by midnight every day for a week” are some of the entries.

Several books with “live life to the fullest” themes have also been published of late, including No Opportunity Wasted: Creating a List for Life by Phil Keoghan, 101 Things To Do Before You Die by Richard Horne, and 2Do Before I Die by Michael Ogden and Chris Day.

“We’re not here to tell people how to live their lives, but we are interested in the wide variety of possibilities and answers,” says Ogden, whose book features stories of people who have accomplished a goal. Fulfilled objectives include parachuting from a plane, asking out a total stranger, and living in Italy for a year.

In the book, Ogden also shared his own experience of recording a music album.

“I thought, one day I’ll be dead, and (I asked myself), ‘What experiences do I want to explore?’” says Ogden. “For me, I wrote these songs, and I can play them on a guitar. But I can also hear the base, harmonies, and everything together in my head. I thought the only way to produce that is to record it.”

Record his songs he did. After weeks of searching for musicians who could help him in his quest, he met a guitarist who had built a home studio for his own band. The guitarist helped him produce the tracks.

“In producing the album, I had the greatest time,” says Ogden. “I knew that whether I lived five or 50 years after that, that I would always remember that experience.”

So my question to you is what is on your life list?
