“We are responsible for what we are, and whatever we wish ourselves to be, we have the power to make ourselves. If what we are now has been the result of our own past actions, it certainly follows that whatever we wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions; so we have to know how to act.”
~ Swami Vivekananda

Study Today’s Quote carefully.

It offers true wisdom. No question, “whatever we wish to be in future can be produced by our present actions; so we have to know how to act.”

You can change your future. Simply start taking smarter actions today.

The 1-2 Punch of Success… Energy and Passion

The 1-2 Punch of Success… Energy and Passion

By John M. Rowley

The most essential factor is persistence – the determination never to allow your energy or enthusiasm (passion) to be dampened by the discouragement that must inevitably come.

James Whitcomb Riley

When you have the energy to fuel your passion, success is sure to follow. The 1-2 punch of energy and passion is the key to success in life. In order to be successful in any endeavor you will need to overcome much discouragement, frustration and failure, and the key to rising above these things is energy and passion. That is why I always say that “Energy is the fuel to ignite passion and passion is the engine of success!”

In the movie Cinderella Man, Russell Crowe plays a down and out boxer that makes a dramatic comeback. The backdrop to this movie is the great depression and previous to the great depression Crowe’s character, Jimmy Braddock was a champion boxer that lost his way. After his comeback a reporter asks him, “You have lost before, what’s the difference this time?” Jimmy Braddock then answers, “I know what I’m fighting for.” The reporter follows up with, “And what’s that?” and Jimmy comes back with what I feel is the most memorable and inspiring line in the whole movie, he simply says, “Milk.” That says it all; now he knew why he was fighting. He was fighting to feed his kids. He was able to look defeat straight in the face and say, “Okay, one more round.” He was able to overcome failure because he had the energy and passion to achieve his goal of putting milk on the table. I feel this is the story of America. A spirited passion for a worthy goal that will let nothing stand in her way. “Okay, let’s go one more round” was the unspoken mantra for generations of Americans and what has made America the greatest country in the world.

The 1–2 punch of energy and passion is the key to success in your career as well as your life. People can feel your energy and passion. Our job is to “sell” people on what we know will help them and you can’t do that by being lethargic.

Many years ago when I got started in sales, I didn’t know how to sell but I was passionate and energetic. One of my first clients told me that as my skill increases it is natural for my passion to wane. He told me the key to my success will lie in my passion and if I can combine an infectious passion with proven sales skills, I will always be a top producing sales person. Was he right! Isn’t that what Mr. Ziglar has been teaching us for years? If we present our message with an infectious passion and conviction combined with a high level of energy, it will speak volumes to our prospects and “sell” them on taking action by using the best person in town…YOU!

Put the 1-2 punch of energy and passion to work in your life so you can live the life of your dreams!

Motivation
By Zig Ziglar

Motivation is important – not permanent.  I am frequently asked the question, “Why is it that some people get really motivated after listening to you, but after a while slip back into their old, negative ways?”  The question really is, “Is motivation permanent?”  The answer is no – but then neither is bathing.  Now, just in case you think I’m encouraging you not to bathe, let me assure you that I believe in bathing.  As a matter of fact, I shower every day and I generally get a real good long one with lots of soap and shampoo.  I do some of my best thinking in the shower.  The reason I shower every day is very simple: There’s lots of dirt out there and if some of it gets on me I want to get it off.  I believe it’s important to smell good – or at least not bad.

I apply the same principle to my thinking and daily motivation.  There is a lot of “stinking thinking” available in life today and if I’m not careful some of it will settle on me.  If too much of it hits me, then the stinkin’ thinkin’ might turn into hardening of the attitudes, one of the most deadly diseases in America today.  Life has so many negatives and demotivations that it takes effort to stay motivated.  To remain motivated I’ve got to deliberately plan to take care of my thinking each day with a “check-up from the neck up.”  Each day I read and listen to something inspiring.  I also associate with people who are making a difference with their lives because we are influenced by our associates, either positively or negatively.  Message: Read something good, listen to something good, and associate with good people as often as possible.  Do these things and your thinking will remain good, which means that I will SEE YOU AT THE TOP!

I have some amazing teachings in my Success Vault that I want to share with you.

“Do not wait; the time will never be “just right.”

“Do not wait; the time will never be “just right.” Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.”

~ Napoleon Hill

This may well be one of the best quotes I have ever posted on my mirror. It offers profound wisdom, and specific advice.

I encourage you to look at what is holding you back and encourage you to instantly eliminate whatever is holding you back from achieving your goals and aspirations. Starting right now. Step out in faith. You can do it!

Affirmations for Success. Do you want Change?

Affirmation is a declaration that something is true. Do you want to see change in your life? Then start changing your conversation about your life.

Do not believe it will work! Then try this. For the next week every day, focus on what you are saying.

Remove anything negative from your thought process.

Do not allow ANY negative to come out of your mouth about you or your life.

And DAILY every morning noon and night tell yourself OUTLOUD the following.

* I believe in my abilities to succeed.
* I now clearly see myself achieving my desires.
* I am growing more loving each day.
* I am a winner, I always succeed.
* Answers come to me easily, effortlessly and clearly.
* I have a clear purpose and a focused mind.
* Each day I move closer to my goals.
* I easily move past any obstacles to my success.
* Life is great; I am having a wonderful time.
* I am now open to wonderful things coming into my life.

Why Not You? Why Not Now?

Posted in Perseverance, attitude, dream coach, goals, life coach, personal development, success tagged , , at 2:56 pm by Sandra Hersey

“Now, I say to you today my friends, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed — we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.”

~ Martin Luther King Jr.

This week, we are doing a “refresher” course on dreams and dreaming. Way back on January 1st I asked you to look into your heart, think with your head, and write down your greatest dreams and goals for 2008.

We are now halfway through June and almost halfway through the year.

What have you given yourself the right to dream… to expect… to accomplish? Are you where you imagined you’d be this time, this year?

What are your greatest dreams? More money… more time… peace of mind… less stress… greater personal freedom? Maybe your dreams are even bigger… dreams of a time when your family really pulls together as a family. Maybe you dream of a better relationship with your maker?

All big dreams, for certain.

But what if you have really huge, world changing dreams like Martin Luther King… or Billy Graham… or Condoleeza Rice? Dreams that the world will live in peace and harmony… that somehow we will all learn to just get along, be our brother’s keeper, and help everyone live the life of their dreams.

What will it take for you to actually LIVE your dreams and goals?

Greater believability? Greater commitment? Greater power?

The clock is ticking. Look at your dreams. Look at your power.

What’s Holding YOU Back?

* Is it your physical and mental Energy level?

* Is it your sense of purpose and Mission?

* Is it your Attitude?

* Is it your ability to set clear Goals?

* Is it your ability to make solid Plans?

* Is it your power to prioritize your actions?

* Is it your ability to Synergize with others?

* Is it your ability to get and stay Organized?

* Is it your ability to optimize your time?

* Is it your propensity to take bold Action?

The Bottom Line…

If you want to live your dreams, you can. But you’ll have to do the work.

Your role is to look at your life as it is right now, and determine if change is necessary.

If you are happy with your life as it is… if you are actually LIVING your DREAMS… then change is not necessary. Continue the path.

2008 is almost half over. If you want to get it together THIS year, my question is simply this: If not now, when?

This was an amazing article from E.R. Haas, but it applies to us so much. I am with a new company where I am looking for leaders in all states! We are making SURE that this year is different! Contact me if you are interested in change in your life and finances.

These three thieves, Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt, will rob you of your future.

Posted in Perseverance, action, attitude, dream coach, goals, life coach, personal development, success tagged , , , , at 2:47 pm by Sandra Hersey

These three thieves, Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt, will rob you of your future.

By E. R. Haas

“Fear is an insidious virus. Given a breeding place in our minds it will eat away our spirit and block the forward path of our endeavors.” ~ James F. Bell

If you let them, these three thieves, Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt, will rob you of your future.

They put a big damper on every area of your life which causes you an enormous reduction in your personal POWER.

Less Power… Fewer Results…

Call it the FEAR of success… the FEAR of failure… the FEAR of the unknown.

It has the same effect. Fear becomes the self-fulfilling prophecy of turning GLOOM into DOOM!

I want you to confront what you fear most about your future.

Please take a moment to think about your Top 3 Goals for 2008.

Now, identify and write down what your fear the most.

Be honest.

Getting your concerns on paper is a great first step towards conquering your fear.

Remember, when your POWER is greater than the FEAR, you will have the self-confidence to meet the FUTURE with open arms

When you are stopped by fear, you almost always fail.

Every type of fear—physical, emotional or social—has the beneficial purpose of protecting you from harm.

However, this does not mean you must always stop.

Remember this: thought directs action. Confirm the value of your goal and the appropriateness of your actions.

Then, consciously choose to focus on more productive thoughts. Master this and you can act in spite of your fear—and continue toward your desired goal.

“Whether you think you can or whether you think you can’t, you’re right!” ~ Henry Ford

Are You Keeping Your Chin Up?

Posted in Perseverance, action, attitude, dream coach, goals, life coach, personal development, success tagged , , at 2:28 pm by Sandra Hersey

Just as your emotions affect your physiology, you can use your physiology to affect your emotions. Stand up straight, hold your head up high, walk with confidence and speak with enthusiasm.

If you want to be enthusiastic, act enthusiastic. Oh come on, give it a try!

Today’s Questions to Ponder:

How are you sitting right now? Straight and with confidence? _________________________________

How will you carry yourself on your next walk down the hall? _________________________________

In what way can you begin projecting a more self-assured image all of the time?
