Being Grateful is very under-rated. Most of us focus on the things we want to achieve in life. We look at what others have and wish we could have or achieve that as well. We know it is important to have dreams and goals, however ladies it is vitally important to your happiness to take time to appreciate the things you already have and focus on what you have already accomplished.

The are many, many benefits of being grateful and thankful

Being grateful refocuses your priorities. As you list or keep your mind on today what you are grateful for, you will see a shift in your priorities.

Focusing on what you are grateful for also reminds you of your priorities and of what is important to you. Often we get caught up worrying or focusing on little things that really are not all that important to us.

Being grateful allows you enjoy the good in your life. Let’s face it ladies most of the time we feel that only achieving the big goals – getting the big promotion, winning the lottery, having the best party – are what will make us happy. But focusing on being grateful allows you to focus on the many small good things that occur in your day that you are grateful for – such as being on time for the bus, getting your favorite drink in the vending machine, seeing a beautiful sky, sharing a laugh with your friend, seeing your kids healthy and happy and playing.

Being grateful improves your physical well-being!!!

Studies have shown that people who take a few minutes each day (or at least once a week like we do on Monday’s here on our Grateful Monday Party) to write down the things that they are thankful for, sleep better, exercise more and feel less stressed. This was far better than the control group who did not engage in a daily gratitude exercise. (What do you have to loose just try it for a week and see what happens to you.)

We have been having the Grateful Monday Party here for almost one year and I for one am very glad that we do. So again today ladies I encourage you to write down and focus on all day today what you are grateful for. Why not write it here for others to rejoice in by commenting back here on the blog. You may just be helping someone else today who does not feel like she has anything to be grateful for.

So I will start……..

Today I am grateful for my baby girl whose birthday is today

Decisions that my husband and I have agreed to stand on and implement in our lives.

All of my children who are healthy and happy.

The possibilities of new friends that comes into my life each day.

My cat, who while I am preparing this will not stop rubbing all over me because she loves me and wants my attention!

Now it is your turn………..

    - After I get done studying for 1 and a half hours I have a Capoeira class and I’m grateful just to be physically able to take that type of course

    - This weekend I have a flag football tournament and I’m grateful for being invited and being asked to be the team captain
