Is God Mad At Me?

Is God Mad at meIs God mad at me? I have heard this question asked by people as well as even in movies. When something goes wrong we believe God is repaying us for something we have done in our past; that He is mad. Let me tell you the short answer to this pressing question; Is God mad at me – the answer is a resounding NO! Not at all; He is madly in love with you!

I do not care who you are or what you have done in your life God is not mad at you. He sent His son Jesus to die on a cross for you because He loves you so much (Ephesians 5:25). Even though this happened long before we were born, God sent Jesus to die for our sins BECAUSE He loves us. So why would He send His son if He was only going to be mad at us any way. God is not in the business of hurting you, He is in the business of loving on you. He purses you, He woos you, He wants you in His life and He wants to be in yours. No one who goes through that much pursuit wants to hurt you or just be mad at you.

Our belief system is one of the reasons we think God repays us with bad things. Because people have hurt us and repaid us with bad things we expect God to do the same. Maybe we have been abandoned and expect God to abandon us but He said He will NEVER leave us! (Deuteronomy 31:6) God is not mad at you; He is madly in love with you!

God IS love. This is a concept we really cannot understand. We say we love something or someone however our love is conditional – meaning we act towards others on how we feel in that moment. God’ s love is not conditional at all – He loves us no matter what! Further more God is actually love (1 John 4:8)! So how can love be mad? The Greek word agapos referred to as agape love, is the word used in this verse. It is used when speaking of an unconditional love. This love of God is boundless. Did you get that – His love for you is boundless! Boundless according to the dictionary means having no boundaries. His love for you has NO boundaries! Humans put up boundaries and when they are mad there are huge boundaries – but not God – His love for you has no boundaries!

God does not only give love; He is the source of love and He is the One who created love. It is because of His love that we are able to love. So how can God BE love, give love, create love and be mad at you? Again, God is not mad at you, He is madly in love with you!

“The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, slow to anger and abounding in mercy and loving-kindness. (Psalm 145:8) The people we love are not always as this scripture states; we as humans are flawed. We are selfish, we are not compassionate, we are quick to get angry and slow to give mercy or kindness. But not God! He is completely opposite of every person who has hurt you in your life. He is completely opposite of every wrong thing someone has said to you which ripped out your heart. He is completely opposite of every manipulative thing someone did to you to make you do what they wanted. He IS love and He IS in love with you; God is not mad at you (say it with me) He is madly in love with you!

God loves you! God has compassion towards you! God is always there to give you new mercy – EVERY SINGLE morning (Lamentations 3:22-23)! You do not have roll-over or left over mercy – you get brand new mercy every single day – why? So you never run out. God wants you to have an endless supply of His mercy. If He was mad at you why would He give you this abundant supply of mercy?

I know if you are like me you have done some things in your life or things you are ashamed of. Try this – what is the worst thing you have ever done? Think about it. Now think of this – God has completely and utterly forgiven you for it; and not just forgiven you, but He has forgotten it too (Isaiah 43:25)! So let it go! You are already forgiven AND God has already forgotten it – therefore He is not mad at you; he is madly in love with you!

God forgave you once you asked “God please forgive me.” God is not punishing you when bad things come into your life – Jesus already told us we would have trials and tribulations in this world  (John 16:33). God accepts you as you are – He pursued you BECAUSE He loves you and wants you, therefore, God is not mad at you; He is madly in love with you!

Lastly, if you have made Jesus your Savior and you know you will someday be in Heaven with Him – have that same confidence in the fact that He is not mad at you. If you can believe He is your Savior then why not believe He is not mad at you; He is madly in love with you!

The Wait Is Over!

I'm A Sword Wielding Devil SlayerFinally the wait is over! Women have asked me sooooooooo many times when my newest book would arrive and it has – just in time for Christmas! I thought as a sneak peek I would give you the Introduction of this 40 day devotional after the tease – so here goes the tease:

“Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet.” Ephesians 6:13-18 (Message Translation)

The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. Jesus used this spiritual weapon when tempted by Satan in the desert. Each time Satan attempted to deliver a blow, Jesus blocked the attack with the Word of God by quoting scripture.

Using a sword is something that takes time and practice. A soldier must practice using his sword to defeat his enemy. In order to use your Sword, you must also practice and use it. That means being in the Word every day and knowing what is says.

This 40 day devotional will teach you how to pierce through the lies and deceptions of the enemy. Jesus knew the Word of God and was able to defend and attack the devil by using the scriptures to attack and drive His enemy away. You, girlfriend, will learn to do that too!

It’s time to take back all the enemy has stolen from you by putting on your stilettos and crushing the enemy’s head! You must keep him where God has already destined him to be – under your feet!

So unsheathe the Sword of God, girlfriend, and wield it over your life and stop the enemy and his invasions!

Introduction:

You, wonderful lady, were born for such a time as this! Do you realize that? You are valuable and necessary to God! As you take the time with your Heavenly Father, He is going to give you answers to questions you have been asking. You are about to learn how to take the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. You are going to wield it over your life and see the enemy run! Do not doubt the value of what you have in your hands; your Sword; God’s Word! Ephesians 6:17 says, “And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.” The word “wield” according to the Merriam’s Dictionary means, “To handle {a tool} effectively, to exert one’s authority.” According to Charles B. Williams, The New Testament: A Translation in the Language of the People, verse 17 here in Ephesians is explaining the Spirit is the subject or agent of the verbal action. And, Hebrews 4:12 says the Sword of the Spirit is a two-edged sword – The Greek translation says a two mouthed sword. {Now stay with me here, I said a huge mouth full to show you something exciting!} A two mouthed sword means, you speaking out the Word of God on one side, and the Spirit of God speaking out on the other! Do you get it? As you speak out the Word of God over your life, the Spirit Himself speaks out the Word of God over your life as well! You are speaking or wielding, and He is wielding as well, as Ephesians 6:17 says! Girlfriend, if you missed that back up and read it again to get a revelation on this now before you go any further! This understanding is what will help change your life! {I’ll wait for you- go ahead, read it again!}
Notice also, a sword is an unmistakable weapon and can be used as a tool for offense and defense. While you are on the offense you speak out the Word of God {wield it} which will cause you to win. When you are on the defense you declare the Word of God out {wield it} to keep the enemy from scoring! Remember, this is no ordinary Sword! This Sword is made of the Spirit {Holy Spirit} and the Word {Bible}. In spiritual warfare the battles are fought with words. Words packed and backed up with the Spirit of God, as you declare them over your life! That is how you wield your Sword!
Over the next forty days you are going to learn just how to take the Promises God has given you and take back all the Devil has stolen from you! Why forty days you ask? The number forty is very important to God, obviously. There are at least ten instances in the Old Testament and New Testament where the number forty occurs. This may have been in years or days.
It rained forty days and forty nights on Noah and his family. The flood waters covered the earth for forty days and forty nights. After forty days the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. When Joseph’s father Jacob died he mourned him for forty days.  Moses was on top of Mt. Sinai for forty days and forty nights with God. For forty years the children of Israel wandered in the desert. Forty days and forty nights the giant Goliath defied the armies of the Lord. Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights after the Holy Spirit came on Him; before starting His earthly ministry. And Jesus was seen on the earth for forty days after His crucifixion. The number forty represents to us, whether it is days, months, or years, a period of tests, trials, and chastisement {not judgment}, and, hallelujah, it ends with a period of restoration, revival, or renewal! {Are you excited about restoration, revival, and renewal? I am!} It is a time for you, mighty woman, to draw closer to God and to stand on His Word! You will begin to cultivate a deeper relationship as you spend intimate time with Him. You will grow and He will give you fresh anointing. God will develop your patience and He will show you His protection and give you supernatural direction from Him.
You will learn how to take the Word of God – The Sword of the Spirit, and to wield it over your family, finances, health, mind, and relationships – your entire life!
At the end of each day there is a section named, “Wield your Sword” where you will declare out the Word of God. Feel free to add to any of the declarations you want to add, but remember, you wield by speaking out loud God’s Word. So girlfriend, for the next forty days you will learn to wield God’s promises and take back what the Devil has stolen from you!
Look at this verse in Ephesians 6 in the Message translation, “Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet!”
Girlfriend, you will be on your feet as a stiletto wearing, Sword wielding devil slayer! And if you do not wear stilettos that is OK, just be a flip-flop wearing, sword wielding devil slayer! Either way, girlfriend, shoes or no shoes, YOU will be standing on your feet victorious and YOU will stop the enemy! ~ Exert from I’m A Sword Wielding Devil Slayer book

What You Think On Matters

What You Think On matter

We have all heard that we are what we eat and though this is true concerning our health, as importantly, we are what we think on! Proverbs 23:7 tells us plainly, “For as [a man] thinks in his heart, so is he.”

One of the most important things we do is to think. And our thinking happens without our even willing it to. Our thinking can be profitable or futile. We are, or at least we should be, masters of our thoughts. We can think on the good or we can think on the bad; the choice is ours. But we cannot think both good and bad thoughts simultaneously anymore than we can travel east and west at the same time. We have to choose carefully what to think. According to Philippians 4:8 we are to have our thoughts on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy!

It’s true that thinking on the good in your current storm does take work. In fact it has been said, “To think truth regardless of appearance is laborious and requires the expenditure of more power than any other work a person has to perform.” But the key is – it can be done!

2 Corinthians 10:5 tells us how to get our thoughts where they are to be by casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Simply, we check every thought against what God’s Word says. There is power that comes from focus. If you can just put your thoughts on what God wants us to think on and give your mind to God in such a way that He can use it, it will be amazing what He will do! You will have to endure some storms in life and some disappointments along the way, but even storms and disappointments have the power to change your life, if you can make sure your thinking is right in the process!

There was a poem written about two men who were in prison. Two of the most important lines of that poem go like this:

Two men looked out from prison bars,
One saw the mud, the other saw the stars.

As a man thinks in his heart so is he. You can live with the mud of wrong thinking in your situation or can look differently at your situation and see the “stars”! Focus on what God promises in his Word instead of what is warring around you!

{Need more help on getting your thoughts lined up with God’s Word, read my book, “Help! I’m Alone With My Mind; A Guide To Having Victory Over Your Thoughts”

Worship With Gladness

god-do-it-again-coverPsalm 100:2  “Worship the Lord with gladness.”

How do we worship the Lord with gladness?

Gladness according to the Webster Dictionary means: “characterized by or showing cheerfulness, joy, or pleasure, as looks or utterances.” So we are to worship the Lord by showing cheerfulness, joy or pleasure. And we are to worship the Lord with looks or utterances; our speaking out.

Our Father in Heaven wants us to worship Him by being glad, being joyful, and speaking out the gladness we have for Him and for what we has given to us in our lives; what He has so graciously given us. If we were to look at Deuteronomy 28: 47 it tells us that because the Israelites did not serve the LORD their God with joy and a glad heart for all God had done, curses were to fall upon them. Our Father wants us to worship Him and thank Him for all He has done for us!

We are to think on, and list all those things we are grateful for; every little thing. I challenge you today to use this whole day to thank on the goodness that your Father has given you. As you move throughout your day, stop and thank Him. Choose to shut off the radio on your commute. Choose to take time in your lunch hour or break to think on those things. From the smallest to the biggest, use this day to worship Him with gladness!

Today Is Awesome Because God Is

150096815

I know you just read the headline “Today is Awesome Because God Is” but your day may not feel as if it is awesome or you may not even realize God has this day in His hands.

Why is God awesome?

Because He is creator and sustainer or your life. Psalm 33:6-9 NKJV “By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, And all the host of them by the breath of His mouth. He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the LORD; Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him. For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.”

Did you get that? GOD created. If there ever was a big bang, GOD caused it! We must remember that life from nothing came from God and if He did nothing more than that alone; that makes Him awesome! But not only did He create, but it works because He sustains it!

In Hebrews 1:3 NCV talking about Jesus, the Hebrew writer proclaims in “The Son reflects the glory of God and shows exactly what God is like. He holds everything together with his powerful word. When the Son made people clean from their sins, he sat down at the right side of God, the Great One in heaven.”

Let all who say that there is no God understand that they could not have the air they breathe, or the gravity that holds themselves to this world, or even the ability to think, if it were not for the power of God’s glory!!

Not only is He Creator and Sustainor, but He KNOWS THE END FROM THE BEGINNING!

God is never surprised! (Isaiah 48:12 NCV) “People of Jacob, listen to me. People of Israel, I have called you to be my people. I am God; I am the beginning and the end.”

God IS the beginning and the end. (Isaiah 46:9-10 NCV) “Remember what happened long ago. Remember that I am God, and there is no other God. I am God, and there is no one like me. From the beginning I told you what would happen in the end. A long time ago I told you things that have not yet happened. When I plan something, it happens. What I want to do, I will do.”

God is awesome because He has provided salvation for man!

(John 3:16 NCV) “God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him may not be lost, but have eternal life.”

(John 1:11-12 NCV) “He came to the world that was his own, but his own people did not accept him. But to all who did accept him and believe in him he gave the right to become children of God.”

(John 10:10 NCV) “A thief comes to steal and kill and destroy, but I came to give life–life in all its fullness.”

(Mark 16:15-16 NCV) “Jesus said to his followers, “Go everywhere in the world, and tell the Good News to everyone. Anyone who believes and is baptized will be saved, but anyone who does not believe will be punished.”

So what does knowing the “awesomeness” of God do for you?  Knowing that God is awesome takes the pressure off of you. Eternity does not hinge on your performance. God’s glory is not dependant upon you! Yes, we must be vessels of glory for Him, but He is not dependant upon it. When we begin to understand the power and majesty of our God and that He is the potter, we are the clay, We begin to realize:

How little we need to do.
How much we need to yield.
How much we need to trust.
How much we need to humbly obey.

Knowing God is awesome and that you trust Him, leads you to trust, that even when you blow it, He is there to bend down and pick up the broken pieces and heal you and the situation!

(Deuteronomy 33:26-27 NIV) “There is no one like the God of Jeshurun, who rides on the heavens to help you and on the clouds in his majesty. The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, ’Destroy him!’”

THERE IS NONE LIKE THE GOD OF JESHURUN!

You can trust the fact that today IS awesome because God IS awesome. Trust Him to lead you, take care of you and love you like you’ve never been loved before.
(Romans 8:37-39 NCV) “But in all these things we have full victory through God who showed his love for us. Yes, I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor ruling spirits, nothing now, nothing in the future, no powers, nothing above us, nothing below us, nor anything else in the whole world will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Notice it says in ALL things, no matter what your “thing” is it is included in the ALL things! In ALL things you have FULL victory through God! That alone makes today awesome because God IS awesome!
