The Best Day of My Life

The Best Day of My Life. An Inspirational BlogToday, when I awoke, I suddenly realized that this is the best day of my life, ever!

There were times when I wondered if I would make it to today; but I did! And because I did I’m going to celebrate! Today, I’m going to celebrate what an unbelievable life I have had so far: the accomplishments, the many blessings, and, yes, even the hardships because they have served to make me stronger.

I will go through this day with my head held high, and a happy heart. I will marvel at God’s seemingly simple gifts: the morning dew, the sun, the clouds, the trees, the flowers, the birds.

Today, none of these miraculous creations will escape my notice. Today, I will share my excitement for life with other people. I’ll make someone smile. I’ll go out of my way to perform an unexpected act of kindness for someone I don’t even know. Today, I’ll give a sincere compliment to someone who seems down. I’ll tell a child how special he is, and I’ll tell someone I love just how deeply I care for her and how much she means to me.

Today is the day I quit worrying about what I don’t have and start being grateful for all the wonderful things God has already given me. I’ll remember that to worry is just a waste of time because my faith in God and his Divine Plan ensures everything will be just fine. And tonight, before I go to bed, I’ll go outside and raise my eyes to the heavens. I will stand in awe at the beauty of the stars and the moon, and I will praise God for these magnificent treasures.

As the day ends and I lay my head down on my pillow, I will thank the Almighty for the best day of my life. And I will sleep the sleep of a contented child, excited with expectation because I know tomorrow is going to be the best day of my life, ever!

Every Tomorrow Has Two Handles

Every Tomorrow Has Two Handles. Sandra Hersey. Keys to victorious faith Christian blog

“Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith.” ~ Henry Ward Beecher

I love this saying because we can create our future; we can have a future filled with anxiety or we can have faith to stand and believe our future is what we want it to be. Hebrews 11:1 so wonderfully proclaims to us, “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” (As a little freebie thrown in today notice that it says “now faith” – that means faith for right now! What do you need faith for right now?)
I want to help you write your future by looking into your future.

I want you to look closely at your goals you have set for this year. {If you have not set your goals for this year then stop now and do it!} I believe this year is going to be GREAT! I want you to BLAST into it, not have it take you by surprise, start now with what you want to happen this year! I want to help you live what’s most important every day you have left!

Your Goals
Look at your list carefully. Does your list of goals reflect opportunities for you to live your dreams? Think of it this way – on that sheet of paper is a small picture of your future.

Your future is a canvas that has yet to be drawn. Next year at this time, you will look at this list and as you cross off things you have accomplished it will be the history of your life… what happened… where you went… big and little accomplishments… failures… heartbreaks… disappointments… and even big successes.
The future will happen and day-by-day and sadly it will silently move into your past.

4 Key Questions:
Here are questions which are important in helping you create the future you want.

Have you written a list of the most important goals you want to experience in your life this year?

Have you written a personal mission statement for your life this year? A statement which promises how you will live what you value.

Have you written down your goals in clear detail with a date to each one?

Do you have at least one clearly defined goal for every major interest and role in your life? Example financial, health, relationships, etc

We are only a few weeks into the New Year. You may have not yet written down your goals and vision for this year or you may have done this but “fallen off the wagon” so to speak. No matter where you are on this day, start like it is January 1st all over again. It is not too late and if you have stumbled then get up and get going again. You can do this; your future can be what you create it to be.

I encourage you to start today, why not right now. You can never get these moments back so go forward.

Small and Ordinary Faith

My small and ordinary faith. Keys to Victorious Faith Inspirational BlogIf you know me you are shocked by the title of this post. I am always teaching you how to have faith that is uncommon; not small and ordinary. But before you get upset let me explain.

Many times we want to find what God has for us; what big thing we are called to. Yet we look at our lives and we do not see extra ordinary things. We see ordinary us.

My son preached a message where Saul needed someone to take down Goliath-the giant and David felt he could do it. David was telling Saul about how he had taken down bears and removed sheep from their mouths. David explained how he had already done some overcoming in his normal day to day life as a Shepard. David was trying to convince Saul that he was prepared already for the task of taking down a giant. The normal day to day steps of this Shepard taking down bears and removing sheep from the mouths of bears had prepared David to take down a giant – he was ready!

You my friend have been preparing as well. In the darkest moments, you were being prepared. In the ordinary moments you were being prepared. David tended sheep; that was his ordinary life. Every day the same, every day about those sheep. Even taking out bears and lions had become part of his ordinary every day life. It was part of what was needed to be done in order to keep his sheep alive.

Then David stepped on the scene of a giant who all the armies of Israel were afraid of; all except David! But what gave this small Shepard boy the confidence to step in and want to take him out? What Goliath and the others did not realize was there was a sling and a stone; these two ordinary parts of David’s daily life were the very things Goliath should have been afraid of. David day after day had learned how to use that sling. He knew how to choose just the right size stone to take out whatever was standing in the way of his flock’s lives. So that day on the battlefield David knew just how to use what was in his hand and to trust God has prepared him.

What about our faith, aren’t we to make it grow? Of course we are, but sometimes we are so focused on the life we think we are to have that we forget we are living exactly what God wants us to live. Even in our ordinary day we are in preparation for the greater. But our focus is always on the greater and what we don’t have, that we forget God calls us to do the greatest thing we can be doing AT THE MOMENT!

Every part of our ordinary life is a preparation for what God has coming up, we just need to shift our focus to using our faith on the small and ordinary things of our day to day life. Day in and day out David protected those sheep, day in and day out he fed and watered them, day in and day out he used his ordinary sling and small stones to perfect his aim. David never thought he was perfecting his aim to take out a giant; this was just normal every day activity. I am sure there were times David thought; who needs this silly old sling anyway, my life is so boring having to constantly follow these sheep. I want to do bigger and better things.

So you see, we are to grow our faith every day, and we are to grow our faith in the small and ordinary parts of our lives through daily preparation. If God says teach the nursery this week; we are preparing. If God says take out the trash at our place of work; we are preparing. If God says bake cookies for our child’s class; we are preparing. In our small and ordinary day to day life we are building our faith and preparing ourselves for what God has coming in the future.

We must stop looking at our life and asking when God is going to do something great with it. We are to start looking at the small and ordinary going on in our day to day lives and realize that what we are doing each day is what God needs us to do that day to change the world for that day, and it is preparing us for what “Goliath” is coming in our future.

The Wait Is Over!

I'm A Sword Wielding Devil SlayerFinally the wait is over! Women have asked me sooooooooo many times when my newest book would arrive and it has – just in time for Christmas! I thought as a sneak peek I would give you the Introduction of this 40 day devotional after the tease – so here goes the tease:

“Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet.” Ephesians 6:13-18 (Message Translation)

The Sword of the Spirit is the Word of God. Jesus used this spiritual weapon when tempted by Satan in the desert. Each time Satan attempted to deliver a blow, Jesus blocked the attack with the Word of God by quoting scripture.

Using a sword is something that takes time and practice. A soldier must practice using his sword to defeat his enemy. In order to use your Sword, you must also practice and use it. That means being in the Word every day and knowing what is says.

This 40 day devotional will teach you how to pierce through the lies and deceptions of the enemy. Jesus knew the Word of God and was able to defend and attack the devil by using the scriptures to attack and drive His enemy away. You, girlfriend, will learn to do that too!

It’s time to take back all the enemy has stolen from you by putting on your stilettos and crushing the enemy’s head! You must keep him where God has already destined him to be – under your feet!

So unsheathe the Sword of God, girlfriend, and wield it over your life and stop the enemy and his invasions!

Introduction:

You, wonderful lady, were born for such a time as this! Do you realize that? You are valuable and necessary to God! As you take the time with your Heavenly Father, He is going to give you answers to questions you have been asking. You are about to learn how to take the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. You are going to wield it over your life and see the enemy run! Do not doubt the value of what you have in your hands; your Sword; God’s Word! Ephesians 6:17 says, “And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God.” The word “wield” according to the Merriam’s Dictionary means, “To handle {a tool} effectively, to exert one’s authority.” According to Charles B. Williams, The New Testament: A Translation in the Language of the People, verse 17 here in Ephesians is explaining the Spirit is the subject or agent of the verbal action. And, Hebrews 4:12 says the Sword of the Spirit is a two-edged sword – The Greek translation says a two mouthed sword. {Now stay with me here, I said a huge mouth full to show you something exciting!} A two mouthed sword means, you speaking out the Word of God on one side, and the Spirit of God speaking out on the other! Do you get it? As you speak out the Word of God over your life, the Spirit Himself speaks out the Word of God over your life as well! You are speaking or wielding, and He is wielding as well, as Ephesians 6:17 says! Girlfriend, if you missed that back up and read it again to get a revelation on this now before you go any further! This understanding is what will help change your life! {I’ll wait for you- go ahead, read it again!}
Notice also, a sword is an unmistakable weapon and can be used as a tool for offense and defense. While you are on the offense you speak out the Word of God {wield it} which will cause you to win. When you are on the defense you declare the Word of God out {wield it} to keep the enemy from scoring! Remember, this is no ordinary Sword! This Sword is made of the Spirit {Holy Spirit} and the Word {Bible}. In spiritual warfare the battles are fought with words. Words packed and backed up with the Spirit of God, as you declare them over your life! That is how you wield your Sword!
Over the next forty days you are going to learn just how to take the Promises God has given you and take back all the Devil has stolen from you! Why forty days you ask? The number forty is very important to God, obviously. There are at least ten instances in the Old Testament and New Testament where the number forty occurs. This may have been in years or days.
It rained forty days and forty nights on Noah and his family. The flood waters covered the earth for forty days and forty nights. After forty days the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. When Joseph’s father Jacob died he mourned him for forty days.  Moses was on top of Mt. Sinai for forty days and forty nights with God. For forty years the children of Israel wandered in the desert. Forty days and forty nights the giant Goliath defied the armies of the Lord. Jesus fasted for forty days and forty nights after the Holy Spirit came on Him; before starting His earthly ministry. And Jesus was seen on the earth for forty days after His crucifixion. The number forty represents to us, whether it is days, months, or years, a period of tests, trials, and chastisement {not judgment}, and, hallelujah, it ends with a period of restoration, revival, or renewal! {Are you excited about restoration, revival, and renewal? I am!} It is a time for you, mighty woman, to draw closer to God and to stand on His Word! You will begin to cultivate a deeper relationship as you spend intimate time with Him. You will grow and He will give you fresh anointing. God will develop your patience and He will show you His protection and give you supernatural direction from Him.
You will learn how to take the Word of God – The Sword of the Spirit, and to wield it over your family, finances, health, mind, and relationships – your entire life!
At the end of each day there is a section named, “Wield your Sword” where you will declare out the Word of God. Feel free to add to any of the declarations you want to add, but remember, you wield by speaking out loud God’s Word. So girlfriend, for the next forty days you will learn to wield God’s promises and take back what the Devil has stolen from you!
Look at this verse in Ephesians 6 in the Message translation, “Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet!”
Girlfriend, you will be on your feet as a stiletto wearing, Sword wielding devil slayer! And if you do not wear stilettos that is OK, just be a flip-flop wearing, sword wielding devil slayer! Either way, girlfriend, shoes or no shoes, YOU will be standing on your feet victorious and YOU will stop the enemy! ~ Exert from I’m A Sword Wielding Devil Slayer book
